"Nothing But the Blood"

Print Size: 11" x 16"

An old song from my childhood days represents the title for this painting. The song’s verse says:

“What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Oh precious is the flow,

That makes me white as snow No other fount I know.
Nothing but the blood of Jesus."

Nothing but the blood of Jesus, does make us whole again. Sin stands between us and God, but the sacrificial blood of Jesus for us provides us access to God.

O what love! Love that flooded God’s heart, for Him to offer as sacrifice His only son by such a cruel death. Did you ever wonder why such a cruel death? Why not quick and easy? Why so much suffering for someone like me and you? I do not even attempt to answer that question, but I am so glad and grateful for the amazing love of God.

Ephesians 1:7-8 says, ”In Him(Jesus) we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.” How do we receive this gift of forgiveness? By believing that God sent His son Jesus to die on a cross of Roman crucifixion. That three days later Jesus rose up from that grave alive and walked on this earth for hundreds of witnesses to see Him. He then ascended into heaven and lives with God. By believing that we have all sinned, done what is wrong and not pleasing to God. By believing that we cannot save ourselves (we can not be perfect). By believing... by faith...

Do you believe? Where is your faith? Is your faith in yourself or a dead god?

I hope you will consider the blood of Jesus, shed and sacrificed for you. If you have not given your heart to Him in faith, all you have to do is pray to Him, ask for forgiveness of your sin, believe in your heart what He did, and ask Him to be the Lord of your life. It is simple. Jesus did the hard part, God made it simple for you.

What can make me whole again? What can make you whole again? Nothing but the blood!!

Luke 15:3-7

You never know what life will bring, as we began to realize when our oldest daughter went through some very difficult times that worried us as parents. As parents we often times have to let go and put our children totally in God’s hands. It would be nice if we would all learn to give things to God at the beginning instead of trying desperately to fix it ourselves. When my husband and I finally decided to stop talking. I told our daughter that it was her choice to go over the cliff, that we did not agree, but we would still love her and still be praying. At the time she was mad. After all our talking we had finally let God work and asked Him to reveal the truth to her. It was not until I was preparing to give a talk about three of my paintings that I realized God had given me the vision for this painting during all this turmoil with our daughter. She even came in while I was painting and said “You know Mom, those are the perfect colors for the sky, because when you are where God has to come get you it usually is dark and stormy.” Little did either of us know at the time that she was about to be our lamb on the branch if God did not intervene. We all at times in life go over the cliff, but God is faithful to leave the 99 and come rescue us. I praise god that He rescued our precious lamb before she went over the cliff.

Luke 15:3-7 says “Then Jesus told them this parable: Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, Rejoice in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”

Thank you, God, for rescuing us in “cliff-hanging” times!

"Remembrance"

Print size:

16" X 24" Giclee, Signed Only

"Do this in remembrance of Me."

Remembrance.... How do you remember? The Lord's Supper, Communion, the Sacraments? Taken by many, in many different ways, in many different denominations, in very expensive ornate cathedrals, in small wooden country churches, and even out in nature in no building at all. However, each time always by "the church", a body of believers. How do you remember, how is it special, or do you take communion with the busyness of life on your mind? How do you remember?

Just wine and bread, or a body broken and a blood sacrifice? Do you remember the sin of the night before and ask forgiveness and mean it? Do you just do the ritual with plans to continue doing what you want, with no thought of the sacrifice of Jesus' blood for your own desires that become sin? How do you remember?

"Do this in remembrance of me."

Luke 24:34 - Jesus said, "Father forgive these people, because they don't know what they do." (Spoken by Jesus while He was on the cross.)

How do you remember?

Father; forgive us for not remembering!

"Caught up Together"

Print size: 16 1/2"" X 23" or
Set of 10 greeting cards with envelopes

I know that one day I will participate in the time in history this painting represents. I believe it won’t be long until He comes for us. I hope you are prepared to meet the Lord face to face. Be sure to look closely at this painting for it represents a number of things. The hem of Jesus’ robe in the clouds forms the top of this painting. There are twelve figures in the clouds, representing the twelve tribes of Israel. These figures have no facial features because each one will see different friends and loved ones when they reach this point. The painting fades from light at the top to dark at the bottom to illustrate our leaving the darkness of this world and entering into the light of Jesus. The clouds in the bottom corners form two angels blowing the last trumpets to sound His coming. Last and most importantly, for us to be witnesses of His coming, we must meet Jesus at the cross and ask Him to forgive us of our sins, believe in our heart that He is the only one who can save us, and ask Him to come into our hearts and be the Lord of our life. This is reflected by the sparkles in His robe that forms twelve crosses.

When I first presented a talk about three of my paintings in church, a man came up to talk to me at the end of my presentation. He said, “There is another angel in this painting. I can see it from the back of the church.” I was surprised because I had only painted two angels. He pointed it out to me and I saw it immediately. It is the shape of a child’s face. Another women shared with me that she felt it represented all the babies who died or had been aborted. It continues to amaze me what people see in this painting and how my paintings touch people’s lives. See if you see this baby angel’s face. (P.S. it is right above the angel on the right.) Maybe God will show you and you will see the most important message of this painting which is that we all need a relationship with Jesus to be able to be Caught Up Together with Him one day.

I Thessalonians 4:16-18 says, “For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore, encourage each other with these words.” If you have a relationship with Jesus, be encouraged. If you don’t have that relationship, please be encouraged by this painting to have that relationship with Jesus and ask Him into your heart today.

"Paid in Full"

Print Size: 24" x 19"

This painting illustrates a choice each one of us has to make. Where does your life fit into the symbols represented in this painting?

THE COINS--betrayal money—Have you betrayed God? Have you not spoken out when you should have? Have you not ever known Him but you tell others, “Oh yes, I’m a Christian!”? Do your actions speak louder than your words? (BETRAYAL!! BETRAYAL!!)

THE HAMMER—Are you beaten down? Has Satan used a hammer of past failures or temptations to beat you down? Is he trying to put you out of commission like he tried to do to Jesus? Is he succeeding in hammering you down under your weight of failures or unconfessed sins?

THE DICE—Hidden under the cloth—The soldiers did not care that His clothing was the clothing of a King. They had no thought for the person, only His possessions. Are you at a time of apathy, you just don’t care what the King of Kings can do for you or has done for you. Or are you more concerned for what He (THE KING OF ALL TIMES) can give you in the way of prosperity & possessions?

THE NAIL—The nail broke His flesh and caused the blood to be spilled. The blood in the Old Testament was spilled for the forgiveness of sin of the people from a sacrificial lamb. Now Jesus is the final sacrifice! There is no other and will never be another sacrifice for your sin. Will your pride keep you from accepting this forgiveness. This free gift!

THE PURPLE CLOTH—Purple is a sign of royalty. Do you want to live in poverty? Wouldn’t you rather live in the palace instead of a pig pen? To live forgiven and free, or in sin and guilt? Royalty -- a child of the King of the universe or a child of Satan, the destroyer of lives.

THE LARGE CROSS—A choice—Jesus never gave up on us. Despite our every imperfection, every sin, He never changed His mind from His choice to save us. He allowed himself to hang on this cross. He chose us!!! He loved us more than words can explain.

THE BLOOD DROPS—Our sins are as red as scarlet. But we can be white and pure by accepting what Jesus did for us. His blood covers our sins when we believe that He died for our sin debt. We owe too much, but with His blood He writes across our bill of sin—PAID IN FULL!

THE TWO CROSSES—One is closer to Jesus’ cross than the other. One of the thieves who hung next to Jesus that day believed Jesus was the salvation of the world—the thief’s salvation! He made a choice to receive Jesus as his Lord. However, the cross in the distance is the other thief that hung next to Jesus, who denied who Jesus was. He said no, I don’t believe, but instead wanted Jesus to do some miracle to save his body but not his soul.

Where are you??? A choice has to be made. You either accept Jesus as the one who can save your soul, or reject Jesus and die with your soul belonging to Satan and spending eternity in hell.

Which will it be? Life or Death? Is your pride standing in the way of the most important decision you will make in this life on earth for your future in Heaven? It is your choice! Don’t be left hanging on the cross in the distance. Make the choice to come to Jesus and have your debt PAID IN FULL!!!

"Abiding Love"

Print Size:

"Marriage". Our world and society have given this word many definitions. It is spoken of with extreme love and devotion by the couple who have been married 50 years. It is spoken of with disdain by the teenager who watched his parents go through an ugly divorce.

Some say they will never marry.

Some marry for all the wrong reasons.

Some make it a wonderful commitment of a deep and abiding love in their hearts.

Ultimately marriage is ordained by God, not man.

Hebrews 13:3 says "Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery. "(New Living Translation) God’s plan is also one man and one women joined together as life long partners. (Not condemning, read the Bible "Romans Chapter 1. Not my plan God’s plan)

This painting of the rose with the wedding rings represents a wonderful love I have shared with one man for over 30 years at the time of this writing. God’s plan always makes you the happiest. The two rings represent two separate lives brought together as one, represented by the one rose. When two people still want their own way instead of the two joining to do what is best for their marriage and the other, a petal falls. The rose is held intact by self-sacrifice, priorities, unconditional love, and the nurturing of the other by both partners.

May we all bring marriage back to it’s highest standard. God’s standard.

"Sparrow Watching"

Matthew 10:29-31, 6:26

As I sat in a radiologist’s waiting room for my first ever mammogram, I read a pamphlet that said those with breast cancer survive 10 years, and I thought to myself, “I need more time! I have two girls to raise.” Through the quiet times I have with God in the mornings, He has opened His word to me on many occasions. Waiting to have more mammograms is no woman’s favorite thing and waiting is not my best quality, but in 2 Chronicles 20:15-17, God said to me “For the battle is not yours but God’s. You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions: stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you. Oh Judah and Jerusalem and (Sheree). Do not be afraid: do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow and the Lord will be with you.” The mammograms the next couple of years were at times good while others would send me back to every-three-month checkups. Sometimes we have to go face the battle and not retreat! Too many times we run from the battles in life, only to miss seeing the victory God has for us!

When the next mammogram surprised us all and a biopsy was in the plans, God gave me another message in Isaiah 7 in another battle faced by His people. He said “It will not take place, it will not happen and if you do not stand firm in your faith you will not stand at all.” Two days before the biopsy, after pulling under the carport of our country home, I sat to finish listening to the song “His Eye Is On The Sparrow”, I thought to myself, “I’ll ask God, if everything is going to be all right help me to see a sparrow”, but I stopped myself and said, “I am not going to do God that way”. He had already given me several scriptures to stand on. As I continued to listen I thought to myself, “where is a sparrow when you need one?” and as soon as I finished that thought a sparrow flew under athe carport just inches from the window of my Suburban and rested on a pipe on the corner and remained there until the song was over, then hopped out of sight. As I turned to reach for my purse in the opposite seat, a sparrow flew past the other window and out to our barn.Mike, my husband, said “You know Sheree, God must have a sense of humor with you. After He has assured you with scriptures, He says, ‘OK lady, here’s a sparrow, too’.” The sparrow, to me, did not mean that everything would be like I wanted it, but it did mean that God was in control and taking care of me, P.S. The biopsy was benign and at the last check-up while waiting in the radiologist’s office once again, the T.V. had a popular talk show on. A young woman was thanking her husband for seeing her through breast cancer. At the end of her thank you she sang the song... (you guessed it) “His Eye Is On The Sparrow”. My mammogram was the best one ever and I don’t have to have another for 2 years, but I do have to see my doctor next year. By the way, this man prays for his patients.

Praise the Lord, His eye is on the sparrow and I know he watches me. I hope this painting gives you peace knowing He watches you too, and you will rest in His hand no matter what the circumstance.
